12' is a long span especially with a wood fence. We just put in a page fence/gate spanning 12' and used a 6" metal pole. Oh, it's 8' high.

just finished a small chain link - bought pieces from lowes and many pieces dont fit - hinge pin too big for female -clamps too big for pipes - check everything before you cement pipes- they have three sizes of pipe- home depot same thing- bought bag of larger bolts - suprise- three different sizes- must have been packaged by Curly, Larry and Moe
