Yea, frick trials.
I've done it once with two really good players on my team. We got fricking skull drug through 3 consecutive losses. I don't think we won a single round. Bungee dropped us in on some flawless going bastards every game.

That's kind of the appeal, no? Beating good teams is a lot more fun than just stomping 7 other teams.

Trials is bullshite because every team going flawless does it for a living. You can buy a lighthouse carry for $10 on the interwebs. When the rest of us get matched against those guys we just don't have a chance.
