I wouldn't want matchmaking for raids. You'd at least need the option to select whether you want it or not.
It would a mega royal complete pain in the arse to have ransoms drop in who are idiots, or 8 year old kids, or anything like that on a raid. They're just too complicated. For nightfall, sure. But I would like the option to select whether or not I wanted matchmaking. I'd like to be able to solo and 2 man them if desired.
Ran some raids last night with 4 people and it was fun as hell. Would have hated to have randoms dropped in on us.

Well, certainly. I wouldn't want it forced. But if I happen to find 3 other people, I'd be really nice to just have an option to auto-find another 2 and get rolling. Unless you have a set of friends you play with all the time, that's really no different than going to the app and looking there.
And of course I'd want some kind of level matching there. Wouldn't want random 285s jumping in on my Oryx hard run. But I feel like there could be a balance.
