Ugh.

1. We only have one "true" hole? What does that even mean? Btw I sure hope our starting LT stays healthy, because that man isn't close to being 100% as of now. That kinda shoots your theory up a bit if he isn't.

2. Well, you said a year. I said by the time they do, it'll be too late. So, don't start putting words where they don't belong. That timeframe? I'd say give them half the season, to maybe get up to speed. By that time, I don't think this team will be in the thick of the playoff hunt unless the NFC just lays an egg this year.....which it might.

3. Spiller won't stay healthy enough to make your point, as his track record shows, and judging Fleener after one game is a little presumptuous given the fact that people around here like yourself keep screaming that it's just the preseason and that we shouldn't judge this team as of yet. Take your own advice if you're willing to give it out. I'd hardly say Fleener proved anything last night anyway.

4. Again, you're reading into some words too much. Saying the defense is better at this point than the offense is like saying that drinking spoiled milk tastes better than gargling hot cheddar. One is just the lesser of two evils, not a goddamn asset. Asset as a term ensues a positive resource...id say the defense is just a little more positive than the offense, both on the negative side of a number line.

5. For frick's sake, did you watch any football last year? Do you remember who played QB at Carolin.....you know, never mind. Apparently, a significant injury to you must mean the man needs to be retired with a Kurt Warner like hit. I said injury. Brees will get hurt by this line at some point this year and will miss at least one game. If your starting QB misses game time, that's significant, unless you think he doesn't mean all that much to this team's success.

6. I have tempered them because of the reasons you have most eloquently have stated. Apparently he doesn't mean all that much to this team if we don't really have an offensive line working well to protect him, run the ball with, or that if he misses time....well; that's not significant.

Keep up the positivity though. I'm sure it's pretty good at all the parties.

Luke McCown. But thanks for asking. One bruised shoulder over 10 years.....I'll take it. You're taking words out of my mouth actually, not the other way around. We more or less kept every player worth a damn and then added a decent amount of talent. How do we end up even worse???

Missing one week is a significant injury for......wait for it......one week. Look around the league, we've been extremely lucky to have a quarterback who suits up week after week after week.

Manning, Brady, Roethlisberger, Romo, Palmer, etc. have all missed a "significant" amount of regular season play.

And don't be so condescending dude, we are all saints fans here
