HMGP money will come and between that and some local skin, the costs will be borne by the FedGov in many instances. Not all but some.

You can elevate. You can be bought out. You can flood proof.

Almost every Parish in South Louisiana has been doing these projects for over a decade. This will increase the grant program's availability in the most impacted areas.

Jefferson Parish has elevated many hundreds of homes and has aggressively pursued-and received-grant money for this purpose. They are not always ridiculous and silly as some state. They are also much, much more heavily urban/suburban than that of the more intensely impacted parishes from this disaster.
