Ok so I'm just thinking out loud, trying to pass the time until next Saturday...my thoughts were on drake Davis and his hands/route running( or lack there of) . Wouldn't this guy be unbelievable at safety ? 6'3 215, can cover ground like a freaking gazelle , can most definitely lay the wood. I mean I'm sure some would argue his talent might be wasted here but if he can't catch he can't catch. Sean Taylor 2.0? Also he could still return kickoff /punts and he could have a few packages on offense ala adoree jackson?

I wondered the same thing when he was being recruited, but he's been getting rave reviews in camp. Maybe his hands have improved.

Saban once said that Michael Clayton could have been a first-round safety as well.

He is a game-breaker at WR and a guy I am most excited about.

Don't wanna get anybody's hopes up, but I expect to see him have a freshman year on special teams like Jarvis had (think decapitation of Auburn KO returner)!

Didn't OBJ have catching problems when first starting too? He worked harder than anyone though. Maybe some can learn and others can't.

No. He will be a force at WR. I wouldn't be suprised if by mid season coaches are figuring out how to get him the ball. Look for him to be a playmaker on ST's too

Drake davis reminds me a ton of TK Fleming athletically. Both just stupid athletic.

No. Drake davis is a wide reciever and is a weapon with the ball in his hands. You don't put a player like that on defense.

Don't forget to give everyone time to develop. It doesn't matter if people aren't polished their true freshman year. Keep working and getting better then sign that contract down the road like Debo Jones.

Not sure what all the down votes are about but I think it's a great observation. While I like the idea of Davis at WR a guy with his size and skill set can be devastating on defense. Sean Taylor was a freak as was Louis Oliver and David Fulcher.

Never thought about it, but I think he would do great at safety. He's still not a polished route runner. But he's coming a long. His ceiling at wideout is very high, but he would be a right now star at safety
