taking a gamble on A 500yr flood due unprecedented rainfall is a lot different than being below sea level, surrounded by water and not choosing to carry flood insurance. We live in NELA and who could have anticipated the flooding that occurred in our area in March, there were areas flooded that had never historically been under water. The point is FEMA is set up to provide federal aid that we all send tax dollars to every year, you shouldn't be penalized based on credit score or income level, your neighbor that has an impeccable credit record and makes twice as much as you lost everything as well.

Well it's good then that this "theory" has been disproven.
