If I was you, I'd go out and spend some time with him.. Take a seat and see if he will just let you pet him and comfort him. In my experience, my dogs need some help understanding that noises and new situations are going to be just fine. If I just hang out with them for a bit, they relax and settle in. Works for my dogs anyway.

Dogs are social animals and he is now in a random environment you might take him for a walk or play with him so he can get used to things.
