re: Golf Cart, Underwater for 24 hours, is it Salvaglebale, Edit it is!!!

So to make a long story short my FIL ended up giving it to my kids. Replaced the batteries with a year old set and changed all the battery cables. Motor has a little humm to it but its the bearings, I need to take it down and replace them. It's been running great for the past 3 months, but now I have a new problem. It seems as though the accelerator is backwards. When I put it in reverse and gently touch the peddle it takes off like a bat out of hell. When I go forward it does the same thing but not as bad.

Any thoughts on where I can begin to look for a problem. My first thought is that its a grounding issue but I can't find anything. Either something corroded or came loose over the last few days?
