My In-Laws just got rid of cable and are trying to use an antenna. They have one old (10 yrs) and one newer (7 yrs) tv. Do they need a converter box? Thanks.

I ordered an antenna from Amazon and it took like 45 minutes to connect. Worked straight out the box.

TV is a couple of years old. LINK

An antenna is just an antenna not digital or analog. If the TV is old enough it may only have an analog tuner and not digital tuner. Most modern TVs have digital tuners. Don't know about a 7 yr old antenna though. If it doesn't you will need a converter.

Why did you ask this question?

Have you tried to hook up an antenna and can't get it to work or is this a just-wondering question?

I have never used a converter box to hook up an antenna. If you are having problems with the actual hookup then list them.

take your time and tell us exactly what the problem is. You're short cutting it and assuming we know more about your personal situation than is humanly possible.
