I work in the music industry so I panicked when I got Tinnitus a few years back.... I found out that I could control it with cutting out sugar, caffeine and cutting aspartame as much as possible... (Not sure why it works-- it just does--- if I eat a piece of cake or something -- 15 mins later my ears are ringing like crazy) Been doing that for over a year now and it is basically gone... There is also a great video on YouTube that gave me relief when I was first dealing with it

Hope that helps... It sucks in a big way...
Folks.... Listening to ear buds loudly, is a quick ticket to tinnitus, it's not worth it...

Only in one ear, not so bad I cannot live with it
May want to get checked out , hearing test etc.
Unilateral tinnitus esp if associated with asymmetric hearing loss will prompt someone scan you (mri).
Also if tinnitus noise beats in pattern , also worth getting checked out.
Tinnitus by and large is symptomatic control but there are some causes of tinnitus that need to be worked up and looked into and can be treated.
