I don't mind it. It's a nicer looking console that can play 4K movies and is cheaper than most 4K players. It's a good option for people that want a 4K player and don't care about care about the games.

The only way the S or Neo would make sense to me is if the 4k Bluray player was future proof like the bluray drives were in the PS3. Firmware upgrades kept the PS3 up to date as the latest and greatest bluray players.
A lot of people got ripped off that bought first, second, and even some third gen stand alone bluray players with the fact that they were not upgradeable and as new standards came out they had to go spend hundreds more to be able to play the latest blurays. People always knocked the price of the PS3, but when it initially released it was actually a bargain for what it could do.
