Because the show lacks decent writers. In the past, the talent also seemed to be decent writers, but that's not the case anymore. Name the last good movie a cast member from post-2000 has had any major part in writing.

I didn't care for MacGruber on SNL, but I suppose the movie was funny in a "I like this, but at the same time, I'm glad I saw it on cable instead of paying money for it"-kind of way, lol....but yeah, point taken.
