I was between that or the misfit bolt. The main reason is not having to chArge the battery. I have too many devices already I have to remember to charge and I feel that chore would keep me from using the watch. Both the Garmin (some models) and the Misfit have a 6-12 month battery replacement interval.
The bolt is lighter and less bulky but the Garmin is cheaper with longer battery life. Also has a display screen.

I have the Vivoactive (not HR). I like it a lot. At first I was set on having the heart rate but after reading about unreliability issues (especially during exercise) with the wrist-based sensors I decided to go the cheaper route.
I like the apps from Garmin and customizable watchfaces. The battery lasts well over a week and that's with using the gps for ~45 mins/day 5 days a week.
Only real con I have is that if you're using it to track your steps it can be a little too sensitive while driving. I turn mine off for my commute to /from work otherwise I'll have a bogus mile walked.
Overall I'm pleasantly surprised with the product and wish I could justify upgrading to the Fenix 3 for some more features and it actually looks like a watch.
