XCOM (and I've been playing since the old, original XCOM
) - isn't really a RPG (in the classic sense), but I know what you mean. Those of us who enjoy the turn-based games - the classics of course were Fallout and Fallout 2, before they morphed into Elder Scrolls: Fallout (NTTAWWT). There are some great games with some of those elements (Jagged Alliance, particularly JA2 had enough elements to make it in the ballpark). I was going to play Wasteland 2 (I played the original Wasteland, back in the day), but I've held off. I'm waiting for it to go on sale again. I'm excited about XCOM 2 as well.
