That's exactly what you are. You're so offended by optimism that you actually said you avoid this board around this time of year.

That alone makes you a "negatiger."

Just because you think you're being realistic or reasonable when you attempt to dampen others' excitement and hope for the season, that doesn't mean you're not a pessimist.

Oh, and this...

don't know if it is the cajun/coonass blood in LSU fans but they are as predictable as sunrise and sunset...

...They are just like a coonass at work. He is either extremely pissed off or extremely happy (except maybe when he's asleep and I doubt it even then). No middle ground.

Is bigotry of the highest order.

If you had read and and comprehended my post you would have realized that it is not the optimism that offends me. It is the total unforgiving meltdowns that occur during the season that is the direct result of the unrealistic off-season optimism.

For example, some team's fans can realize that they had two offensive linemen drafted into the NFL so their team may not be as good or it will at least take time for the new OL to jell and get better.

LSU fans, RIGHT NOW, will tell you, I'm sure you've read it on this board, that the LSU OL is going to better than last years. Yep, lost two OL to the draft and a TE who may be a starting left tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles and LSU's line is for sure going to be more dominant than last year. They know this and LSU has not played a down of football for the 2016 season.

So now every false start, holding or other penalty will bring a full melt because the OL isn't living up to the LSU fan's projected greatness.

Think about it - two OL drafted and this guy "Undrafted rookie Dillon Gordon was the star of offensive-defensive line one-on-ones. He owned defensive end Marcus Smith during one pass rush. He just kept pushing Smith away from getting closer to the objective. Gordon did the same to rookie defensive tackle Aziz Shittu. During early team drills, Gordon was at left guard and he mauled Logan with a trap block. By the end of practice he was at left tackle." And there is no doubt among Rantards that this years OL will be MUCH better than last years. Pfff !!!

No it's not. However, it certainly has been defined that way by our contemptible and orwelian PC culture. We're supposed to scrupulously pretend that there are no differences in races or ethnicities even though they're as plain as the nose on your face.

So, no, africans can't run faster, jews aren't more driven, muslims don't blow more things up, anglos aren't more trustworthy, japanese don't take more photographs, and greeks aren't more difficult to govern...but they are!
