The most redeeming value that Seinfeld holds for me is that it never had one "serious" episode/moment. All comedy, all the time.

They did get pretty far into an episode about Elaine getting a gun. They decided against it.

It had one brief moment, that I can think of. The one where they were doing an intervention for an old comic friend who was 'messed up on drugs' (the guy Kramer told to dump the gatorade on Marty Benson's head after the softball game).

George's girlfriend dumps him and he chases after her out of Jerry's apartment, just as that guy walks in to a room full of friends and says "So what's goin' on?" with a very somber look on his face. End Scene.
