I concede that there are systemic issues with race in a lot of industries, but I'm not sure Hollywood is one of the worst offenders. People write what they know. Most screenwriters appear to be white males. People of color--instead of screaming "racism," should start going to film school and start writing and making films that are reflective of their own life experience. It will be tough sledding at first like with any filmmaker, but talent will rise to the top. Hollywood cares about green, not black or white.

Sure, but it's the entertainment industry, they prey on controversy and scandal.

Are we going to start protesting because there aren't enough minority Hollywood scandals? Do we need a Kim Kardashian for every race?

Why is the entertainment industry important for "social activism" ?

They should look into how many female and black engineers there are, how many females and blacks get to wall street.

This idea that Hollywood has a responsibility to dictate what our politics should be is annoying. If movies go that direction, you can count me out. I prefer to decide on my own, regardless if I agree or not, and Hollywood sure as frick isn't qualified to tell me right from wrong considering it's entire existence.

This. These actors are cast for their star appeal, not their skin color (or even their acting ability in some cases).

Constance is great on Fresh Off The Boat, but this is some faux outrage on her part.
