From what you've described so far it sounds like an alternator issue to me.
A bad alternator will cause the battery to die... and after you jump start it can cause power issues with the electrical system. I'd have her get to the nearest Auto Zone type place after work and get them to check it. They should be able to tell if it's a problem with the battery or alternator.
