First off, yes, taking it a few days and then stopping can do exactly what you mentioned. Your body was getting accustomed to be "told" what chemicals to make and in what dose to make them by the medicine and then you shut off the voice all of a sudden. Without that voice to tell it what to do, your body was doing nothing (in regard to producing the chemicals related to your depression). So it takes a few days for your body to remember how to do things on its own without being given directions by the medicine. During that time it basically DOESNT do those things, or does them in low amounts, causing you to be even more depressed and reclusive. I would start back on the meds.

Second, prepare for short term side effects that you are going to think, "shite I cant do this from now on". Things like headache, no sleep, and I'm totally not making this up, excessive yawning. lol They usually dont last more than a week or so.

Lastly, prepare to have to try a few different meds to find the right one for you. They started me on zoloft and after fricking for 4 solid hours without getting a nut, I said piss on that. So then they changed me to lexapro and I had the same problem. Finally I settled into welbutrin and it has made me into the non-frick giving motherfricker I always wished I was and without the shitty sexual side effects. It actually the opposite effect for a little while after I started it. I was a 2 pump chump there for about 2-3 weeks before things settled back into their normal way of things.

Hope this helps.
