I just finished "All the Light We Cannot See" by Anthony Doerr and thought the book was awesome.
It is a very different spin on your typical book during WWII (and I absolutely LOVE any books written about this time period, fiction or non-fiction). About the separate lives of a blind girl in France and a young German soldier. Very fascinating read imo.

quote:Mrs. Füt just finished it and I (mistakenly) asked her how it was.
"All the Light We Cannot See"
Her Synopsis of the Plot:
"Wah wah wah France, wah wah wah German, wah wah wah WAH...."
No offense, perhaps it's her reviewing skilz that are subpar. It seemed extremely chick-ish.
ETA: I'd listen to an Ambrose book again, any of them.
