It's generated by the ubiquituous, pervasive LSU fan insecurity about all things related to the football program. The LSU fanbase doesn't just see the glass as half empty. The Big Ten leader Jay Delaney was psychotic last year after the Buckeye's humiliation!! The Ohio State is the third richest state in the USA and the dirtiest program in existence. Used to be Alabama before probation.
Herbstreit, Holtz, Delaney and yes possibly Les Miles, Bo Pelini are colluding to beat the SEC, beat Dixie, and yes beat down the South one more time. I guess 1865 still lives!

I talk to UM all the time. I have friends there. I went to school there. I met my---well, I got laid there a lot. I even go out there and teach a course from time to time. They'd love to have me there full time. Isn't gonna happen. I'm happy where I am. If my clients got bent out of shape every time I took 5 minutes off to talk with a member of the UM faculty, they wouldn't have time to do any work. Speaking of which, don't you have homework to do?
