You know how you don't get shot? You don't resist a simple arrest.
You know how you don't put the police officers in a situation where they have to think you are going for a weapon? you don't resist a simple arrest.
You know how I've gone 31 years without getting shot by police? I'm not a fricking moron when confronted by police officers.
It's pretty easy not to get shot by police.
All this is true. Those cops still killed that man WITHOUT sufficient provocation, IMHO.

Since NO ONE can really see what was going on with his free right arm, I think you are a piece of work to say something like this

That hasn't been proven.
Even if it turns out that you're statement is true, the likelihood of me getting shot by police is very minimal if I'm polite/civil, and I comply with the officer's instructions.
However, the chances of me getting shot by police sky rocket when I start being belligerent, engage the officer(s) physically and resist arrest. ESPECIALLY if I have a weapon on me.
Whether or not deadly force was needed remains to be seen, however one thing remains true (or at worst highly probable), if Alton Sterling had simply put his hands behind his back and allowed the officers to take him in, he could have had justice via his day in court.
While you're being arrested is not the appropriate time to take action as it pertains to your guilt or innocence.

The thing that most of you don't realize, I'm assuming you're talking about Sterling, is that because this man had a record, he was probably well known by officers that frequently patrolled that area. It doesn't take long for consistent offenders to have a poor reputation and had these cops known that he has caused issues with previous encounters they would have been on heightened alert. I see no reason they should wait for a felon to draw aim and squeeze a trigger before taking defensive action.
