As all hell was breaking loose on Airline, and our city's officers and deputies were stretched thin, surrounding agencies that had nothing to do with the crisis in Baton Rouge deployed to the city and helped where they could so our guys could finally catch a break.
I've seen pictures of Kenner PD, LSU PD, Mandeville PD, Ascension Sheriff's deputies, and St. Tammany Sheriff's deputies out holding perimeters and even patrolling Baton Rouge to help a department stretched thin. Just as no one expected this to happen when they awoke this morning, these officers from out of town didn't expect that they'd be patrolling one of the biggest flashpoint cities in the country by this afternoon.
Thank you to the out of town police departments that came in today to ensure Baton Rouge could return to normal as soon as possible. You didn't sign up to come up here, but you did it anyway. We all greatly appreciate it.
Edit: Apparently Livingston Parish and St. Charles SO was here too. Thank you to you guys, as well.

Saw a convoy of 8 LEO vehicles heading east over the Basin bridge this afternoon as well. Didn't see where they were from.

Livingston Parish probably had the largest out of town presence

I guess one department helping another happens for a lot of big events. During Essence, I saw some JPSO deputies on Canal St.

It probably happens a lot, but at least two of those departments are an hour outside of their jurisdiction, which is a pretty awesome commitment.
