How was will able to communicate so precisely via the lights?
When sherrif and winona are in the upside down, we see that as they are inhabiting the same space as the real world, there is an energy that sets the lights off. As they walk though the upside down house, the lights in the real world house go off.
So how was will, who we know to either be hiding or incapacitated, able to point to specific lights on the wall corresponding to the letters?
I wondered that as well. I just chalked it up to him being able to manipulate things (energy?) from that side of things. But the more I thought about it, the less sense it made, so I tried not to.
