Very true. The only problem with that is they are state employees. Some other state program would have to take a hit in funding, but it would probably be worth it.

FIFY, tax and spend, never any cuts. After all, it's not the politicians money, it's magic money that just keeps coming in whatever amounts are needed.

Worth noting, police typically get awesome state pensions and can retire at an early age. It's a huge piece did compensation that doesn't show up in most tallies.
