I'm in the beta thanks to ingress playing, it's a battery killer and very ingress like. It's going to be interesting to see how the Pokemon fans take to it that don't play ingress. I don't think a lot of them will like it.

Yes but rumors say it should be out later today in the US.

I still collect Pokemon cards not to play, but to store in the closet. Will no doubt jump on Pokemon GO. I've been checking every 30mins in Play Store, nothing yet.
Going to the beach on Thursday. Hopefully i'll pick up some sweet magikarps.

What is Ingress? I play 0 mobile games, do not even have one installed on my phone.

Actually it's already full version for beta players, yey. Slow rolling out to you guys.
Ingress is an augmented reality game. Basically your phone acts as a window into the world and you have to physically go to locations to play the game. Most of the original places were post offices and fire stations. Pretty much the same in Pokemon GO now. Also art/sculptures and such will be the locations as well as man made historical places. Ingress is like capture the flag between two teams where you level and can put better defenses on your flags. Then you can link 3 flags together to make a field between them. The flags are known as portals. In Pokemon GO they will be called Gyms, but you won't be fielding them. Fielding is how you score your team points in Ingress. Pokemon act as the defenders of the flag in this game, in Ingress it's resonators.

Why would I?
Collecting isn't an investment. I collect because I enjoy it.

Has Ingress been out for a long time? Does "Pokemon" improve the concept at all or is just fan service and/or a way to get ppl playing Ingress?

2012 I think. I started playing it cause of the Pokemon go announcement last year to get a feel for what Pokemon could be like. I enjoyed getting out and walking with it. Fun motivation to exercise on lunch and get outside. It was a Google project and then sprung off onto its own with Niantic.
Niantic has done a good job with it and the community is great. Nintendo saw what they were doing with it and wanted to bring Pokemon into that type of platform.

This.
I'm looking forward of what Pokemon I can catch in a giving area. Just seems fun as a Pokemon fan.

It's helped me lose weight and get my blood pressure down.
It got me into doing GoRucks as well cause they partner with them at events. I am hearing there is suppose to be another big Ingress event in New Orleans in November. It's always a good time.

That is awesome. VR won't help you though!
How dense are Pokemon outside an urban environment or tourist/vacation spot?

It's about the same rate every where. Gyms are a lot more rare in rural areas though.

What is your experience city to city?
I'm in Dallas every 2 weeks and NO at less once a month. Same Pokemon types since it is the same environment?

Well Kotaku posted an article today of people finding Magikarps in their kitchen, to in the middle of a road in cities.
They also posted another one of people finding a lot of Pokemon on/in their toilets.
It seems to be random than anything else.

Just downloaded the game. All my bros are really hype about it.
This is cool the map even has the ponds from the 15th hole behind my house.
