I've got 12 lvl 100 toons...11 on Stormrage (biggest Alliance PVE server) and 1 horde on Area 52 (biggest horde PVE server). You've picked the wrong time to start...most people just manage their garrisons these days (World of Garrisoncraft) waiting for Legion. I actually like leveling and would echo what the others have said. You get more XP by questing, but running each dungeon once and doing their associated quests is fun and a quick XP booster. One other tip...don't worry about knocking out all the quests in a given zone. Once they go green or grey, you're getting reduced or no XP. Try to quest in zones that are 1-2 levels above your current for max XP.
