Ha, the cat's out of the bag, so to speak. With as heavily armed as the U.S. populace is, it would be bloodier than the civil war if martial law were to be imposed. The only scenario I can see this possibly happening would be one where there is a world war, and martial law is imposed so as to protect citizens. But even that is a far cry from reality, or ever happening.
Large global conflicts with multi national forces are a thing of the past. And to echo what has been mentioned already, it would have to be imposed by the very people that are going to be most affected by it. The average citizen. Good luck with that.
