Thanks for all the tips guys! This should help me put together a swell getaway with the family. We'll be going in August.
Maybe when the kids are older we'll go back and do some of the more challenging hikes. My wife has this irrational fear that my kids will fall off the top of a mountain, so I have to stick with safe activities for now.

Rather than start a new topic, I'll just hijack this one.
We're planning a trip to Smokies next month (myself, wife, 2 year old). Are there any cabins with good fishing(not fly fishing) in walking distance...also any recommended guides in the area?
