Giving Parsons a max is a win now move. Almost every Pels fan, yourself included, has called for a patient approach with an eye towards 2019/2020. Maxing out 28yo Parsons doesn't really fit that.
Of course, I can see this FO giving it a try.

There's the rub. Nevertheless, if I somehow knew that Parsons' knees would hold up, I think I might do it.
