Yeah that was him. LSU advised him to have the surgery almost 8 months before he had it. He wanted to do it au natural... But his rehab he was doing back home did nothing. When he got back here for fall ball he pitched a couple times and the had to have the surgery. LSUs staff was kindof in a "told you so" position. So it pushed his readiness back significantly. He thought he should have been pitching the whole time Mainieri, Dunn, and training staff had shut him down.

Wish him luck, he never seemed to be a fit here. When healthy he has the chance to be great.

LSU's Doctor and Trainer are top notch. Trust me. If Latz wants to blame someone, he can go look in a mirror.

If he's ever healthy. It doesn't seem like that arm will ever be ready for a significant role in a bullpen. I hope he does have a successful career, but man I don't think that arm can take thousands of pitches based off of what we've seen/haven't seen.

We need to re-evaluate how we do things if a left-hander who throws in the 90s doesn't fit here.

I can confirm Jake Latz is leaving the #LSU program. @KendallRogersD1 had it first.

Say what you want about Maineri but his pitchers rarely get serious arm injuries. He's done a damn good job with the health of our staff since his arrival.
Seemed like every ace we had under Smoke had to undergo Tommy John.

I'll have to side with PM on this issue.
