Last night is what those in the know refer to as a "heater".

I'll need to relisten but not sure "heater" does full justice

Absolute fricking fire last night from start to finish. Mike's Song opener, shreddy 'Paugh, Gin, Stash, all made for a great first set filled with classics.
Set II was just bonkers. Antelope kicking it off, and then one of the better Fuegos until >Jim. Simple was a MONSTER jam, and then that 46 Days>Sneaking Sally through the Alley>46 Days was as buttery as it gets. The energy in the pit during First Tube was off the charts, that amphitheater was wild. Awesome show, awesome crowd, just a fricking blast.
10.21 was no slouch either. That DWD connected so many themes and highlighted the band's layering interplay.
Also, the weather couldn't have been better. This weekend elevated tour big time, Vegas is gonna be next level. Thank you Phish

I am currently 30k in the air en route to Vegas...I am attending a trade show at the Aria this week.
Here is the crappy part...I could have extended my stay at the Aria for the convention rate of $219/night through Halloween, and the round trip airfare on the company could have been changed as well...
...but, Mrs. Marco booked a trip to the islands before the Vegas dates were announced, so I fly home Friday--the same day all the heads start to arrive. I leave again next Monday for the week.
Oh well--NYE it is.

SET 2: Stealing Time From the Faulty Plan, Backwards Down the Number Line > Lifeboy, Meatstick, The Line, Tide Turns > Taste > Friday, Waves > Julius, Good Times Bad Times
ENCORE: Show of Life
On paper, that looks like the worst 2nd set and encore imaginable. Longest song was 8 minutes (Taste). It's such a baffling selection of songs, I'm nearly convinced the band was trolling the audience...
Many of the usual sunshine pumpers couldn't even put a positive spin on it.

So one bad set negates the 3 sets of jams that they played previously??
And how did they get shafted last year?? Granted the ATX show was lacking but the Grand Prairie show last year rocked. I'll pump sunshine whenever I goddamn feel like it.
