I am the op, and that is not what I asked. I asked what is thought of women being drafted for COMBAT.

Don't use a cliff hanger title. It's in the Guidelines for a reason.
Regardless, I stand by my original point. Sure, if feminists truly want equality then they should also be required to register for selective services and put into combat.
There are combat roles that women could serve in that don't regularly require the same level of physical demand.

I'm neither a lady nor a parent, but I support this as long as we still make anyone sign up for the draft.
However, I strongly support getting rid of the draft altogether.

So you can comprehend English in the subject but not in the rest of the message? And, your original post was strongly indicating women should NOT be in combat.

I didn't realize combat was so well defined on the battlefield.

The women who are against this simply want discrimination in their favor. They want equal rights without equal responsibilities.

Bad idea. No one would agree....

"frick equality, I don't want my little girl being drafted to fight for politicians trumped up conflicts."
Then you should have a problem with people sending their boys to fight for these causes. Either both genders gets drafted or nobody does. What's fair is fair.

Compounding a stupid decision with another stupid decision is always a good idea.

frick fair. frick equality too. We aren't equal and we shouldn't be treated equally. I don't even believe in the concept of equality.

Draft'em! There are positions for women. Although ever person is trained for front line combat during basic (my experience in the Army) no woman would serve in those positions if they chose not to.
Question for military folk, I honestly don't know - Are there situations currently where men cannot pass physical tests for combat, and thus are assigned to non-combat positions where they can still contribute?
If so, wouldn't those rules still apply? There are definitely women that could contribute in combat, but they represent a smaller % of women than for men.

Woman can handle combat. Maybe not as many as men but if a man can't handle it he wouldn't be placed into a combat position, just like a woman wouldn't.

I don't have a problem with this. However, I do think women who are drafted are probably more suited to administrative or medical roles.
Same. Only a very small percentage of women drafted would be suitable for combat so I don't see why people are getting upset over it.
Also, I'm sure there would be a provision if the woman has children and the father was also drafted. You can't draft both parents.

It's not about whether or not they can handle it. Why fix what isn't broken? Women are an inefficient source of labor for the military. They cost more money to train and house. Their presence causes disciplinary and morale issues. Why spend money and risk all the problems that come along with it just to be "fair" to a small minority of women?

There's a bigger picture. With rights comes responsibilities. In terms of money, the matter isn't night and day.

Of course, women shouldn't always be the ones who get to stay home if both parents are drafted.

You don't seem very bright. People often respond to the thread title and just assume the OP is perhaps an explanation. the thread title of "how do you feel about women being drafted" stands on its own. You made the mistake, so learn from it and quit being an arse.

No, that's not what I'm saying at all. There are combat roles besides front line infantry. armytiger16 should understand this, but seems lost. Many people don't like the idea of women being in various combat roles, not because they don't like the idea of a woman getting killed in battle but because they feel that their physical limitations will become a liability.
While this certainly may be true in an infantry type role, are there not roles that require less physical demands such as piloting aircraft or driving a vehicle? These roles can be carried out in combat.
Furthermore, for people that don't like the idea of women being put directly in harms way I say that a draft of women could allow them to fill various support roles at a FOB or back home.
