It's a nice place to visit. Coming from NOLA has probably conditioned you to dislike tourists, you'll end up feeling the same way living in Pcola. The job market is not a booming one there outside of military/government contract work & tourism. Crime is not bad. Housing prices are cheaper than most areas, especially the further from the coast you go(obvious statement).
Basis of input/ Full disclosure:
I grew up in Pcola but left shortly after finishing HS. I've only been back a few times since graduation to visit old friends.

I'm assuming PCola is better/nicer than Mobile?

Thanks. I don't mind the tourists so much as the lack of infrastructure/cleanliness and abundance of crime in NOLA.
Pensacola is an old historical town, close to the water and beaches, with a few chem plants where I might be able to get a job. Cost of living would also be lower in FL which is great. Do decent music performances tour through here much?
I guess I was just wondering if there were any hidden downsides to PCola that I wasn't aware of.
