Like I mentioned, I don't travel anymore, but these are answers from when I did.

How many nights per month are you in a hotel? It varied, but I averaged around 60-80 nights a year.

What is your preferred hotel chain and why? Hilton, points.

How many flights a year do you average? None

Do you get to keep your hotel/airline points? Yes

How many miles per month are you driving? It depended on how many out of town trips, but probably 1k to 2k per month.

Do you have a "territory," and if so, what is it? No

How does your company reimburse mileage? They did, at whatever the tax amount was at the time.

Do you receive a car allowance, and if so, how much is it? No, only mileage.

Do you receive per diem, if so how much per night? No Per Diem, but at another job I was responsible for handling that for our travelers. We used some GSA site to determine if a city had a special amount or received the standard.

How are travel expenses paid (reimbursed from your card or company card)? Reimbursements.

What industry are you in? It was a CPA firm. Travel for audits at out of town clients. It wasn't like I would have a night or two a week, we were either in town for a week or out of town for a week. Occasionally we'd finish up early and come home Wed/Thur but usually it meant leaving really early Monday morning and coming home late Friday night. And just about all of them were 2 week jobs. Some stretched to 3 weeks. I spent the entire month of February in Mississippi a couple of years on a 4 week job.

What advice would you give someone who is about to be a frequent work traveler? Take advantage of CC points or FF Miles. It makes the travel for work actually worth it when you can book a trip and not come out of pocket for it. Seek out local restaurants. I used to love going to Montgomery because I was familiar with it, and there were decent chains, but at the same time there were great local places. We'd always ask our clients where they like to go, since the usual chains every night for dinner gets old.
