If the mandate is win now, which is dumb, nobody in the draft is going to come in and make us a playoff team. If they were, they would be gone in the first five.

Exactly. If there is really a win now mandate, then a rookie would not be in the plans. If the alleged win now mandate actually existed then Dell would have been allowed to trade the pick at the deadline for an established player, but he wasn't. He would also trade the pick for an established player now, but everyone knows that he doesn't have the authority to do that unless a legit all-star on a multi-year contract is coming our way.
ETA - Also does anyone seriously believe Ferry comes on board here if ownership is as meddlesome with the alleged win now mandate as bloggers report?
