if he gets thrown out at the plate, as long as fraley moves to 3rd base on the play, the only difference is you now have runners on 1st and 3rd and 1 out, instead of 2nd and 3rd and 1 out.

depends on how you judge risk/reward. the right play is to make the ball go through the infield

You get 1st and 3rd with 1 out you have to try and steal 2nd to force them to draw the infield in.

You get that situation then the squeeze is most likely on

You're insinuating he should have gone home immediately, and if he does, he gets hosed from the pitcher. Fraley was running from 1st base with a busted up knee. He isn't getting to third on a play from the pitcher to the catcher unless it is a run down.

The only way to guarantee a runner at 3rd with one out is for Duplantis to freeze. It just worked out shitty because the CC pitcher just tossed it to first without thinking much.
