But there's no humility in the man. He got a "prove it" deal in Dallas, played well below his expected level of performance, and still started shite with teammates. There's no hope for Hardy. Freeney was a lot better last season, has no baggage, and will cost you about the same.

I'm all about taking a chance on Freeney too but again, the contract has to be right.

Admittedly I'm not particularly familiar with the ins and outs of Hardy. My only point is that if you think he can play and contribute this year and you can get him for terms that are reasonably low risk, then you at least consider it.

I promise you that his contract will "be right." I suspect that he left Arizona, Atlanta, and a few other teams without a deal because they didn't think that he'd be a big time contributor worth making the team over young potential. NOT because he was asking for too much money. If that's the case, that might lower your expectations of him. Thing is, teams thought the same thing last season and he TORE shite UP in limited playing time. He's obviously a stopgap, but I think 2016, 37 year old Freeney is still probably better than what we would have gotten out of Kikaha. Old arse quarterbacks are changing perceptions. Interior DL and OL have been lasting forever as of late. I don't see why a 37 year old, future HoF DE couldn't join the club.

What I'm saying is those things became truly organizationally destructive as a result of the fact that he was locked in on a massive contract.

Negative. Money or no money, Junior was going to act a fool eventually. Your problem is that you fail to see the overall picture. Galette had been a headcase. It was the reason he was kicked out of Temple & ended up at Stillman.

A year ago, New Orleans Saints defensive end Junior Galette didn't have a place to play. He had been kicked off the Temple football team for a series of what he called "boneheaded mistakes, " including personality clashes with coaches and an incident in which his cousin was arrested for stealing laptop computers from the dorm while visiting Galette on campus.

Well you should have done your homework before posting on potentially signing him. His background information is laid out all in this thread. Have you even bothered to read what has been posted on him? If not, maybe you should.

Here's the problem that you & other posters who approve of potentially signing Hardy fail to see. All you guys are doing is looking at is on the field possibilities, sacks & pressures. Yes, the team could use help in that department but for all the on the field positives Hardy could potentially bring, his character behind the scenes could cancel out those positives if & when he starts to act an arse. You guys fail to see the importance of team chemistry in the locker room & how one bad apple can completely divide a team while effecting the play on the field. Players like Hardy often deviate from actual play calls & their assignments, just to pat their own stats. Sound familiar? Junior did this very often. It's why he was such a liability against the run. Not only that but signing Hardy would create a national media circus around the organization which is something a young team like we currently have doesn't need.
