ETA: I would have never allowed her to continue hitting me like that. One time out of anger for me being a drunk arse, sure, I could forgive that , but after the continual hits I would have wrapped her up in a bear hug until she calmed down or tried to walk away. If she followed me and continued to hit me, I'd call the cops, file charges on her, and gladly take my public intox. It's very doubtful I would ever hit a girl unless she was an actual threat to my life.
