Oh I didn't mean billing. I meant actually working the hours. As far as I understand (I'm not an attorney and have never billed anything), you get to generally bill about 70 percent or maybe a little less of the hours you are actually in the office and not eating lunch.

You can easily live off 180k in NYC. Even if you pay 4k a mo for housing.

Depends on how you bill and how your firm counts hours. I don't miss much time during the day (except days like today) which is how I bill roughly all of my time while at work.
