True story. I'm originally from New Iberia. There are probably 20 guys in NI who own a coat and tie. When I went home for a visit in the early 70s my old HS buddies (also coming in for the holidays) said "Let's try this new restaurant on Main Street."

The 4 of us went through the door and were told "Sorry, gentlemen. You must wear a coat and tie here."

Me: "How long have you been open?"
Him: "A little over a month."
Me: "I'll give you another month tops".
Then we walked out.
The restaurant closed down the next month.

Fancy restaurants are fine for people who like that stuff. It's all about niche marketing.

Your wife doesn't allow you to have cheese in the house. There's no way I believe this conversation took place.

What a shite hole. You didn't need to go into that long story to tell us that fine dining wouldn't make it there.
