If I were you I would definitely head to Bogart's or Pappy's (both BBQ). If you only get to choose one I'd probably do Bogart's.
Farmhaus is great as well, and for pasta I agree with Blutarski, we have done Charlie Gitto's on the hill, and if the weather is nice they have a great patio.
If you want old school steakhouse, Tony's is probably your best bet.
Finally, if you want pizza, Pi has a location in walking distance from the arch. It's fairly expensive for pizza, but great stuff.
Oh, and FYI: Top 100 restaurants in St. Louis (according to the Post-Dispatch)

Farmhaus is a great restaurant. The BBQ recs are on point as well.
Also, any of Gerard Craft's joints are great (Niche, Braisserie, Taste).
Might also check out one of David Bailey's joints. Rooster and Bailey's Range are both good.
St. Louis has lots of really, really good food and drinks right now.
