The move to cover politics and tech will not work as well. Simmons' frat boy demographic will not want to read think pieces by the former Obama speechwriter

Disagree.

I'm pretty conservative, and I like their Keeping it 1600 podcast. They clearly lean way left, but they're very knowledgeable and funny. I don't take politics overly seriously so they make the discussions lighthearted and similar to the sort of banter I'd have with a friend.

That's the feel I like from BS's podcasts. It feels like a conversation you're sitting in on. They've kept that feel in all their podcasts. I'm really excited to see the Ringer website. They hired a helluva lot of super talented people.

Couldn't disagree more - they have been wrong about literally every prediction they have made re: Trump and Sanders. They are so in the tank for HIllary that it hurts, and if she does manage to lose CA and has the nom ripped from her, I'm sure Favreau will still somehow manage to sound like a blowhard and act like he saw it coming all the way.

Their snark is off the charts - they should be writing and podcasting for Jezebel. Liberal snark is the worst snark.

I agree, I know absolutely zilch about politics and honestly think it's boring but that Keepin it 1600 podcast is really fascinating. I'd recommend the episode they recount the day of the Bin Laden capture/killing. The behind the scenes stuff was really interesting to listen to.
