well, if you want to get technical, we use ceramic discs to store most of the data anyway...

I'm just saying that drive is meant for the disk on the far right, these are the stored on the far left.

Now we have portable HDD but this media was originally made obsolete by CD's which are much faster and hold much more data but are not nearly as durable.

This is a case where durability and reliability trumps more modern advantages
