My dream is for an upstart company to partner with a good local chef and open up a brewpub in the old Entergy site on Government Street.

It's something that has been discussed, but unfortunately, the Redevelopment Authority which owns the property is completely broke. They have all kinds of great ideas, but no money to fund them.

The RDA is going to lease or sell that land to a private developer. Eight companies, nearly all who have ties to Baton Rouge or New Orleans, have submitted requests to redevelop the property. On Friday, the RDA could select a developer or whittle it down to two or three finalists.
