We kill them all year long, clean them like a deer and ice them down. Never had a problem with any size male or female.

We cook them on the pit, crock pot or just smother em down with seasonings on the stove and the meat is awesome.

Same here. We kill them all year and clean them the same way with the only difference being we clean them faster during the hot months and immediately put the meat on ice. If I kill multiple hogs, it's hot and I'm the only one cleaning them, I'll quarter them out and get the back straps. That's it.

This is what we do also. I've eaten pigs from 40 to 180 lbs. and they were all good.
