So many questions to answer.

Do you have school aged children? If so, Klein, Tomball, and the Woodlands (Conroe) ISD's are your best bet. Avoid Spring ISD.

Taxes: I believe the Woodlands tax rates are significantly higher than any surrounding areas-check that out before purchasing a home if that is hot button of you. Some here consider that the outskirts.

There a ton of new neighborhoods in north Harris County with varying price ranges. Maybe rent for a year before you determine where you want to buy and study which school district you'll want to live in.

The north side of Harris County (Spring, Klein) and the Woodlands will give you quick access to the new Grand Parkway (99), I-45 (usually a disaster), and Hardy Toll Road. That will provide easy access to the areas you mentioned.

We've lived in north Harris County for 25 years and it's a great place to raise a family. Good luck.

This is true. However, if you are looking for one of the "super neighborhoods" that are so common here, you do get to factor in that there are no HOA fees in The Woodlands. It is it's own "township" and those are factored into your property taxes. And they actually use them to keep everything up. Not saying that doesn't happen in other Houston neighborhoods, but it didn't where I lived in LA.

I suggest this to everybody. It gives you a full year to watch the news. See where all the shootings and shite happen. Also, gives you time to drive through some places at night.

Spring was voted against. I second that. Spring is too close to NW Houston. Hell I don't know where one starts and the other begins. NW side is very Crack-tastic. Getting gas on the NW beltway after dark, you better have your Spidey senses working.
