Do cops not carry Tasers??

I often wonder the same thing. For years all we saw were Taser videos, and now they seem to have fallen by the wayside.
That being said, if you have your weapon drawn upon entering a crime scene, and someone is coming toward you with a large knife, I don't expect you to holster your weapon and pull out a Taser. **I haven't watched the video so I'm not sure if that applies in this situation or not.

Do people not know that it's a bad idea to keep walking with a knife in your hand toward someone pointing a gun at you?

Would you approach an unknown situation with your taser drawn instead of your firearm?
You wouldn't want to bring a knife to a gunfight, you wouldn't want to bring a taser to a gunfight either.

A taser is a lower level of force than an edged weapon. An officer would be placing themselves in a position to be killed if they used a lesser level of force than the threat presented to them.
A taser would generally be used in a physical confrontation without deadly weapons being present.

As I've said several times on here, the closer a target gets to the taser, the less effective it is at stopping people.
And if someone is trying to use deadly force against you, you use deadly force against them.
Ex: you taze her and she keeps walking and as you try and transition, she buries that hatchet into you.

We had a local cop killed a few years ago when he had his taser drawn and the guy pulled his gun and shot him. After that the departments do not pull their taser unless they know 100% the suspect is unarmed.
