Looking to take the wife and kids on a different vacation this summer as we always go to the beach. Has anyone been here and have any recommendations on what to do and where to stay. Is there thing to do for the kids, I have a 7,8, and a 15 year old. I would like to stay in a cabin as opposed to a hotel. Any info is appreciated. Thanks

I'm sure you can take a look at the National Park's website and get some ideas. This NP is unique in that it is pretty urban.

Wife and I took our little one to Magic Springs waterpark when we were there last year. Your younger two will have a blast there.

The Mid America Science Museum under went a renovation a few years ago. I haven't been, but I've heard good things.
Deluca's Pizzeria has the best pizza in the state. Reservations highly recommended - they can run out of dough on weekends.
Don't expect too much from Magic Springs and you'll have a good time. It's a small park - no where near on the level of Six Flags, but they have a few good rides/decent water park.
Rent a boat on Lake Ouachita. Stay away from Lake Hamilton on weekends - crazy busy.
ETA: Check out this website for HS family vacation ideas.
ETA2: Either on your way there or home, stop by Crater of Diamonds State Park - any diamond you find, you keep!
